Tiffany, I wanted to thank you for your thoughtful response to my comment on Sara's podcast. It was interesting to read about your experience with your Addison and also hear more in your podcast. I think you explained your progression very clearly and well. Reading your comment actually helped me to feel more confident and less fearful because I know that my husband and I will be very good at dialoguing about all sorts of issues... I appreciate your advice about what you would have done differently, and I'm glad to hear that you and your daughter are in a good place.
"No one can have any spiritual control over you that you do not allow." What a powerful statement! I have come to similar conclusions in my spiritual journey, but it was most affirming to here it said by someone else.
Ok. I just found this blog. I want to say this is awesome. I'm sharing this with my wife, who has recently become self empowered. She has stood up to an aggressive priesthood leader when he tried to extol authority over her (in a dismissive, bad way) I've never admired her more.

ReplyDelete"given up my own spiritual autonomy and sacrificed it on the altar of male patriarchy"
ReplyDeleteThese words pierce me. I want all the women of the church to rise up and destroy that altar.
llcall,
ReplyDeleteI am glad if my comments were helpful. Best to you!

ReplyDeleteThat is so great that your wife held her ground against a leader. It takes so much courage. I'm glad you found us.
